Pregnancy is an exciting time, but it also comes with a lot of questions. We strive to provide a wealth of information for our patients, and we use each visit as an opportunity to provide guidance and prepare you for the coming weeks. PREGNANCY CARE IN SOUTH DENVER

PREGNANCY CARE AT WHCA

Our providers see patients throughout their entire pregnancies. We provide comprehensive office-based care, obstetric ultrasound, perform vaginal deliveries and Cesarean sections, and provide postpartum care as well.

Our eight female OB/GYN providers perform all of the deliveries for the patients in our practice. We pride ourselves on patient communication and education throughout the pregnancy, and address issues such as:

​

  • Preconception counseling

    • A visit focused on optimizing natural fertility and preparing for pregnancy ​

  • Genetic screening

    • Discussion of the options for genetic screening both prior to pregnancy and during pregnancy care​

  • Comprehensive obstetric ultrasound

    • Our WHCA ultrasound providers are experts in first, second, and third trimester pregnancy ultrasounds, including 3D ultrasound images​

  • Neural tube defect screening

    • Bloodwork that can evaluate whether your pregnancy has a higher risk of neural tube defects such as spina bifida​

  • Gestational diabetes screening

    • Bloodwork that can evaluate your risk of diabetes in pregnancy​

  • Routine vaccinations in pregnancy

    • We offer TDaP and flu vaccines in our office, and will discuss any other indicated vaccines such as COVID and RSV vaccines as well

  • Birth Plan Education

  • Preparation for Labor & Delivery

  • Vaginal delivery, including assisted delivery

    • Our providers are skilled in both forceps and vacuum-assisted deliveries​

  • Cesarean section​​

  • Vaginal birth after cesarean section (VBAC)

    • One of our practice's passions is offering women the option to have a vaginal delivery after a prior Cesarean section. Our providers will discuss whether this option may be right for you during your pregnancy care. 

  • Postpartum care

  • Postpartum depression

    • We have specialized providers on staff to help women navigate the challenges that can come with postpartum depression and other postpartum mood disorders. ​

While the majority of pregnancies at WHCA are uncomplicated, our practice is highly skilled in the management of high-risk pregnancy in the south Denver area. Please click below for details.
