BIRTH CONTROL

If you are looking to prevent pregnancy, our female OB/GYN providers are happy to discuss a variety of options with you! We understand that each patient has unique needs when it comes to birth control, and we would be happy to help you find the method that is right for you.

Our birth control offerings include:

  • Intrauterine Devices (IUDs): small devices inserted into the uterus to prevent pregnancy

  • Nexplanon® insert

    • a small progestin device about the size of a matchstick that is inserted into the upper arm and prevents pregnancy for three years.

  • Birth control pills

    • Oral contraceptive pills with different doses of estrogen and types of progestins.

  • Birth control patch

    • A wearable patch that delivers estrogen and progestin and is changed weekly.

  • Birth control vaginal ring

    • A flexible ring inserted into the vagina that releases birth control hormones into the body.

  • Barrier methods

    • Barrier methods include condoms, diaphragms and more.

  • Laparoscopic sterilization

    • Surgery to remove the fallopian tubes, providing permanent birth control.

Making a decision between the above options can be challenging and can depend on what your priorities are. Some patients prefer to avoid hormones, while others like the side effects of less bleeding that hormonal contraception often provides.

Our female OB/GYNs and our team are happy to discuss your birth control options with you to help determine the best choice for you!
